History Museum of the West-Siberian Railway, Novosibirsk, Novosibirskaya oblast, Russia
Admire the mighty machines that once regularly crossed the vast expanses of Siberia and served as the only link between remote places at West Siberian Railway History Museum. The open-air museum features over 100 historical locomotives and vehicles. See old steam and electric engines, some of which are fitted with giant snowplows to serve in the harsh Siberian winters.
A tour through the authentically restored train cars allows you to see how different social classes traveled–from high-ranking officials to prisoners bound for gulags. The museum also displays a collection of vintage Russian automobiles and light military vehicles.
