Hisar Mosque, Konak. İzmir, Turkey 

Hisar Mosque, Izmir’s biggest and most magnificent mosque, was constructed between 1592 and 1598 by Aydinoglu Yakup Bey.

It is built out of stones with domes coated with lead. It is roofed by a large dome resting on eight piers, and noted for the decoration on the altar niche and pulpit. The mosque has a beautiful interior decoration. The interiors feature some of the finest styles of Ottoman art. It is located in the district of Hisar just next to the Kemeralti office complex.

A gallery of seven domes surrounds the open courtyard. The minaret has a single balcony. This mosque had been restored several times during the 19th and 20th century and has therefore has some European influences.;
