Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park

We at Asa Zoological Park endeavor to give the animals a comfortable habitat where they can be healthy. By showing the animals’ energetic lives, we are working to foster.

Asa Zoological Park opened in 1971 in Asakita-ku, Hiroshima as the 62nd zoo in Japan. The gross area of the zoo is 49.6 ha. There are about 170 varieties of animals including giraffes, lions, black rhinoceroses, lesser pandas, woylies, Japanese giant salamanders and macaws .

Asa-zoo is probably the most popular destination of families in Hiroshima and with such reasonable entry fees, many families visit quite often in good weather throughout the year. There is a nice playground and shaded area with picnic benches just left of the entrance gate up a slope.

Zoos are places where people can enjoy learning about the animals that have been entrusted to us from nature as Animal Ambassadors. Note restrictions may apply due to redevelopment.
