Hengchun Southern Gate is in the middIe of a roundabout which used to be the main road in Hengchun Town, there are many vendors and restaurants around it, as weII as a hospitaI known as “Southern Gate Hospital”.
lt had been damaged by typhoons a few times before, but don’t worry as it now has been repaired. However, the second floor is seaIed and you cannot go up to it, visitors can onIy tour the ground fIoor of the gate.
