Hail Rally Starting Point
The first rally was in 2006, and is held annually. Since then it has been run as an official FIA Baha competition, part if the world championship, as well as a more locally focused event. The popularity increases every year and has proven a major boost to tourism in a region which for many years was overlooked in comparison with other parts of Saudi Arabia.
Rally cars, motorcycles and quads are raced through the Nafud desert, on one track, for nearly 1300km, passing through the towns of Hail, Baqaa, Al Ghazalah and village of Umm Al Qulban. Running for more than 15 years, this is a thrilling event held every December/January. Start locations change; it’s best to check the website or call closer to the dates.
