Grumeti Game Reserve, Tanzania
Created by the Tanzanian Government in 1994 to protect the path of the great wildebeest migration and wildlife indigenous to the area, Grumeti Game Reserve has fast become a vitally important part of the Serengeti-Mara Ecosystem.
Local communities, conservationists and safari operators work together to ensure the long term survival of the species that make the area their home, and the reserve as a whole, for the benefit of Tanzania, Africa and the world.
Numerous exclusive luxury eco-minded lodges have been developed on the reserve to generate low-impact tourism, employment and the funds necessary to keep this vitally important wildlife destination protected.
