Grand-Popo Lagoon, Benin
Grand Popo is situated about 85 kilometres from Cotonou and an hour drive from Lome the capital city of Togo. The commune is known for its rich culture and tradition, which is a major attraction to the area.
The environment is beautiful and rich in its natural abundance. It features large lake, marshy areas, splendid coastline and lush green landscapes.The Grand Popo beach offers a wonderful relaxed environment. Note that the ocean current here is usually very strong. The Republic of Benin is well known for Voodoo and there is no better place to appreciate this tradition than in Grand Popo.
