Gouraya National Park, Béjaïa, Algeria
Gouraya National Park is offers one of the most diverse ecosystems containing elaborate and breathtaking flora and fauna’s within its boundaries. Named after the gorgeous mountain that is a total of 660 meters tall.
In addition to Gouraya Mountain, this national park consists of cliffs and amazing beaches along the coastline that makes it extremely popular for tourists and locals alike to enjoy a swim within the pristine waters.
Gouraya National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve because of its entire plant and animal species that have made a home within its lands. Animal species that make up its unique fauna include both Barbary Macaques and jackals, which are possible to spot when walking through the forest of the park.
The life within the waters just off the shore of the park is has incredible marine ecosystem that protects magnificent mammals such as the Short-Beaked Common Dolphin, the Bottlenose Dolphin, the Harbor Porpoise and the Sperm Whale.
