Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center

Each year the Golden Gate Bridge attracts more than 10 million visitors to take in its tremendous 746-foot tall towers, sweeping main cables, signature International Orange color and Art Deco styling. It is a sensory experience featuring color, light and sound. Constructed between 1933 and 1937 during the depths of the Great Depression across a strait many considered to be impossible to span, the Golden Gate Bridge is an icon of design and engineering, an internationally known symbol of American ingenuity, and the centerpiece of the Golden Gate National Parks Products are developed and designed by the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the nonprofit partner of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
