The stadium was built at the end of the 1920s and extended in the mid-1950s. Until the move to the Parkstadion in 1973, seven German championships and one cup victory were celebrated here. Located directly on the Schalker Meile, you can still get an idea of what the atmosphere was like at football matches in the last century.
The many Schalke-related graffiti are proof of the club’s continuing connection to its roots. Apart from that, there are countless unique photo motifs for fans here.
On the Schalke Meile, there are several pubs that have been frequented by Schalke and football fans before and after matches for decades, such as the club pub Bosch Schalke 04 Vereinslokal – Vereinslokal Schalke 04 Bosch (vereinslokal-bosch.de) directly at the entrance to the Glückauf-Kampfbahn.
