Ghoufi, Ghassira, Algeria
The Ghoufi canyon is a tourist site located in the Aures in Algeria. The village of Rhoufi is a secondary agglomeration of the commune of Ghassira in the wilaya of Batna 1 , 2 . The long canyon has been dug by the Abiod River and extends for three to four kilometers along the river.
The site is however remarkable for the points of view offered to the visitors and for the geological layers which appear on the slopes of the canyon, well known geologists. The strata tell the geological history of the site. On the other hand, the place is the spectacular result of the work of erosion , especially that of Abiod which flows below.
