Belgium and Germany are among the founding countries of a unified Europe, of a European Union that stands for stability, prosperity, the rule of law, democracy and security, and both countries feel responsible for a united Europe. The people of our countries share many common values and beliefs. Belgium and Germany are strong partners in every area and have strong regions and federal states. There are many intensive and stable political, economic, cultural, regional, social and, of course, family ties between our countries. To discover and experience these ties every day, but also to work on further developing and deepening them, in Brussels and throughout Belgium, is a daily challenge for me that brings me a lot of joy.
