Georgian Folk Art Museum, Tbilisi, Georgia

This is the Georgian equivalent of the Skansen in Sweden, And other outdoor ethnographic museums of folk architecture in Europe and the US. It was a brainchild of one man who actually lived on the site at the end of his life, and his house has some nice costumes. Highlights include the house of a man who came to the US in the early 20th century, rode with Wild Bill Hickox, and then returned home – the vintage photos are on the wall. There are great examples of wood carving, as well, and many peasant crafts. It is at the upstream end of town on a hill top the gives views of the city below.
