In March 2020, he assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of the CBS Entertainment Group, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a visionary approach to content creation and distribution.

Under Cheeks’ leadership, CBS has maintained its position as America’s Most-Watched Network, a testament to his strategic acumen and dedication to delivering compelling programming. He has been instrumental in expanding CBS’s global content reach, transforming the brand from a singular broadcast network to a multifaceted content provider for both broadcast and streaming platforms.

Before joining CBS, Cheeks served in senior executive roles at NBCUniversal, including Vice Chairman of NBCUniversal Content Studios and Co-Chairman of NBC Entertainment. In these positions, he oversaw primetime, late-night, and scripted daytime programming, demonstrating a keen ability to navigate the evolving media landscape.

Cheeks’ career began in legal affairs, holding significant positions at Viacom’s Music and Entertainment Groups, where he served as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel.
