Garwood Dam Trail, Saguaro National Park, Arizona, USA

Totalling 6.4 miles, this hike starts from the Douglas Spring Trailhead on the Garwood Trail. You’ll quickly enter a saguaro cactus forest. Keep an eye out for a rare crested saguaro and its fan-shaped tip—there are only 25 in the park. You’ll pass Garwood Dam, built in the 1950s, and swinging a left onto the Carrillo Trail will lead to views of the Santa Catalina Mountains.
