The Welsh Maragogi tour is the must-see program for those who visit the city of Alagoas. Those who go to the place do not regret it, such beauty! Welsh are natural pools formed by coral reefs in the low tide period. They have crystal clear waters and harbor a large number of fish, corals and marine animals, such as the hedgehog. Pools are best enjoyed during low tide, when reefs actually form pool-like structures – so during this period boat trips are made to the place.
The people of the area usually call the three sets of natural pools near the edge of Maragogi “Welsh”. There are three swimming pool areas: the “main” galleys (in front of Salinas Maragogi); The pools of Taocas (in front of the Beach of Maragogi); And Barra Grande (on the beach of Barra Grande). There are boat trips to the three areas, but the most famous and, therefore, most explored are the main galleys, considered the largest swimming pools in Alagoas. The pools of Taocas and Barra Grande offer a very similar experience and, as they are less visited, say the places that are less worn by tourism. With the exception of the pools of Barra Grande, which can be known on foot at 0.0 tide, the natural pools of Maragogi are known from a boat path. The duration of the trip to the galleys varies according to the conditions of the sea, the wind, the boat and the pool area to be visited. After arrival by boat in the galleys, tourists are free to dive with the fish and explore the pools. Services such as snorkeling mask, underwater photos and guided diving are often offered on the boats – which is an excellent option for those who want to take a dive but do not have certification. In this type of dive, the instructor accompanies the visitor at all times and takes him up to 5m deep. Because the Welsh have hidden and relatively deep cave areas, scuba diving is ideal for enjoying the transparency of the Alagoas waters and their marine life.
