Fryderyk Chopin Museum is to cultivate the memory of the great composer and to make information about his life and work available to a wide audience. The purpose of the Museum is to collect and transfer knowledge as well as to deliver a high quality artistic experience, the choice will depend on each individual viewer. Innovative forms of exploration will be based on interaction with the audience and the immediate response to the individual needs of visitors.
The new museum is not only a central facility for the Year of Chopin celebrations throughout 2010, but first and foremost an institution for the national memory of Fryderyk Chopin. The long term Museum plan is to help to capture the social consciousness of his identity as a unique European institution linking knowledge with art.
