Fongguei Cave, Magong City, Islas Pescadores, Taiwán

Located in the edge of the southwest corner of Magong City, Fongguei Cave is known for the wave’s noise and the distinctive topography. The cave is an air vent for a basalt cape. After hitting and corroding by the waves for a long period, the basaltic rocks here disintegrate, formulating a sea cave. As the sea cave is almost an airtight space, air inside the cave will be pressed to release through the narrow air vent on the ground when the waves rush into the cave, forming a marvelous scene.

For people who would like to see the spectacular view, the best time to visit Fongguei Cave is summer, the seasons of typhoon and tidal surges. The air vent will even become a powerful fountain, spurting water several stories high. There is also fascinating views including columnar basalt, unique sea cave and sea trench in coast nearby Fongguei for one to enjoy a nice walk.
