Ferry Customhouse Quay, Wellington – Picton, South island, New Zealand 

One of the highlights of New Zealand travel is the 3 1/2 hour ferry ride between the North and South Islands.
The Wellington Picton ferry route connects New Zealand with New Zealand and is currently operated by 2 ferry companies. The Interislander service runs up to 3 times per day with a sailing duration of around 3 hours 10 minutes while the Bluebridge service runs up to 4 times per day with a duration from 3 hr 30 min.

So that’s a combined 49 sailings on offer per week on the Wellington Picton route between New Zealand and New Zealand.

The city of Wellington is New Zealand’s capital city and is located on the south west tip of the North Island, between Cook Strait and the Rimutaka Range. It is the North Island’s major population centre and is also the world’s most southerly capital city.
