2026 National Cyber Crime Conference

A high-level in-person conference brought together government, law enforcement, and corporate cybersecurity professionals to explore cutting-edge threats, defenses, and best practices in cyber risk and resilience. A dual-track format: a Law Enforcement Workshop requiring credentials, and a Gabelli School Cybersecurity Workshop focusing on AI and cybersecurity strategy. Attendees—including FBI agents such as ASAC Amit Kachhia-Patel and ADIC Christopher Raia—participated in keynote addresses, expert panels analyzing ransomware syndicates like Lockbit, quantum threat preparedness, and AI-driven cybercrime response. The conference also offers CLE/CPE credits and networking receptions

FBI Cyber Crime Division

The FBI Cyber Division, Safeguarding America’s digital frontier, the FBI Cyber Division combats global cyber threats, established in 2002, plays a vital national security role by identifying, investigating, and neutralizing malicious cyber activity targeting the United States. Operating under the Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch, the division leads efforts to disrupt cybercrime networks, defend critical infrastructure, and bring cybercriminals to justice. It addresses a wide array of threats including ransomware attacks, state-sponsored intrusions, cyberterrorism, and the exploitation of children online.

The division functions through a combination of investigative expertise, digital forensics, and intelligence gathering. It collaborates with U.S. government agencies, foreign partners, and the private sector to share threat information and strengthen national cyber resilience. Specialized units such as the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF), and Cyber Action Teams (CATs) are part of its strategic arsenal. These teams respond rapidly to major incidents, support local field offices, and maintain global awareness of evolving threats.

In addition to its operational response, the FBI Cyber Division engages in prevention and education. It works to warn the public, provide technical assistance to victims, and promote cyber hygiene best practices. The division plays a crucial role in countering advanced persistent threats (APTs) from hostile nations, dismantling transnational criminal groups, and defending U.S. digital sovereignty in an increasingly complex cyber landscape.
