Erimtan Museum, Altındağ, Ankara, Turkey

The Eriman Archeology and Art Museum is a special institution that exhibits Yuksel Erimtan’s collection for the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage, as well as archeology, as well as contemporary art and museum. Opened in the first quarter of 2015, the museum building located at the Ankara Castle Square aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the city’s artistic activities while welcoming visitors with a contemporary architectural language that fits the historic texture of Ankara.

Besides the halls designed with an innovative museum concept where archaeological works are found, there is a multipurpose exhibition area which also includes temporary exhibitions. In addition, scientific, cultural and artistic activities are offered to the use of the residents in the multipurpose hall.

Although collections constitute the hearts of museums, they are regarded only as a tool in contemporary museology, what is important is what kind of activities can be performed around these collections. Indeed, in the time when museums are now being designed and operated as effective educational institutions, the wealth of our experience has been measured by the success of the museums.
