The Shark’s Cove, located behind St. Peter’s Church, in the Port of Santo Antônio region, is the location of the novel of the sharks in Fernando de Noronha. At high tide you can see more than ten animals in a very shallow region. They rub against each other, all together and mixed together .
“The cove is used for courtship and mating. At low tide they are also there, but in deeper areas. At full tide you can see better from the top of the cliff. In the courtship sharks touch each other, there are several males trying to copulate with the females, “explained researcher Léo Veras.
