Duke of Mukhyber’s Residence, Amman Governorate, Jordan

The surprisingly popular attraction considering that there’s not much to see over here. It was the residence of a Jordanian businessman, who was also the Duke of the village of Mukhabyeh. Before that it was the townhouse that served as a post office, the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, and a hotel. The look of the building has been kept as it was in 1924 and in that, it serves as an interesting look into a time gone by.

The walls of the house are covered in the works of artists from those times. Thought this is technically not a museum and still functions as a residence, the house has an open-door policy for everyone who is curious enough to look inside. Sometimes there are informal concerts hell over here. If you stay for a while the Duke might join you for tea, and he has interesting stories to tell.
