Dryandra Lookout

The Dryandra Lookout was constructed in 2003 within a bushland setting on Law Walk on the edge of the Mt Eliza Escarpment. The roof’s rich patina and shape was designed to resemble the leaf of Dryandra sessilis, commonly known as Parrot Bush. The species has since been incorporated into the Banksia genus but the lookout has retained the name. With unparalleled views of the Swan River, this venue is ideal for an intimate gathering.

Dryandra Lookout is a peaceful and secluded spot nestled within the lush bushland of Kings Park in Perth. Situated along the scenic Law Walk on the southwestern edge of the Mt Eliza escarpment, it offers a quiet escape from the busier areas of the park. The lookout features a distinctive small leaf-shaped shelter that provides shade and a cozy vantage point, making it a popular choice for intimate events like weddings or commitment ceremonies for small groups.

From this vantage point, visitors are treated to sweeping panoramic views across the Swan River and the city skyline beyond. The outlook captures the shimmering waters of the river, distant bridges, and the blend of urban development with natural surroundings. On clear days, the vista highlights Perth’s unique position between the river and the Indian Ocean horizon, creating a serene contrast between the vibrant city and the tranquil landscape below.

The surrounding area is enveloped in native Western Australian vegetation, with walking trails nearby that allow exploration of the park’s biodiversity. Dryandra Lookout remains a lesser-known gem, ideal for those seeking a moment of reflection or a short break while enjoying the fresh air and natural beauty. Its peaceful atmosphere and stunning outlook make it a rewarding destination for both locals and visitors alike.
