Dostoevsky Museum, Saint Petersburg, Russia
The Literary and Memorial Museum of FM Dostoyevsky was opened on November 12, 1971 in a house on Kuznechny Lane 5/2. In this house, Dostoevsky rented an apartment twice: in a very short time in 1846 and from October 1878 until his death on January 28, 1881. The beginning and the end of the creative path turned out to be conjugate at one point. Here he worked on the early story of The Double , here was written his last novel The Brothers Karamazov . The apartment of Dostoevsky was reconstructed from the memoirs of the writer’s contemporaries and wife.
