The Dortmund U-Tower, also known as Dortmunder U, is a former brewery building located in the city of Dortmund, Germany. Constructed between 1926 and 1927, it was the first high-rise in Dortmund. The Union Brewery used this building for the fermentation and storage of their products. In 1994, the brewery and its surrounding buildings were closed and demolished, but the Dortmund U-Tower was spared due to its landmark status. Since 2010, the U-Tower has served as a center for the arts and creativity, housing facilities such as the Museum Ostwall1. It’s considered one of Dortmund’s central places, offering creative catering and event spaces. The Dortmunder U showcases artworks from the 20th and 21st centuries, develops innovative cultural education concepts in the digital age, and collaborates with various players in the creative industries. As a partner for regional and international projects, it embodies an intersection of art, research, creativity, cultural education, and economy
