Door of the Big Clock, La Rochelle, Poitou-Charentes, France
The entrance to the town from the harbour side, this old gate in the fortifications became a belfry with a clock in the 15C. Its cornice was largely remodelled. In the 18C, the edifice was topped with a dome adorned in pilasters.
