Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport is the main airport serving Djibouti located around 5 km from Djibouti City. Comprised of a single passenger terminal, the airport handles a range of regional and international flights including direct flights from the UAE. The history of the airport stretches back all the way to 1948 and it was expanded during the 1970s, while it is now jointly used for civilian and military aviation.
