Canadian Olympic Comittee

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is the organization responsible for coordinating Canada’s participation in the Olympic Games and other related events. As of now, the President of the Canadian Olympic Committee is Tricia Smith. She has been a key figure in Canadian sports, both as an athlete and as a leader, having competed as an Olympic rower and winning a silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Games

Under Smith’s leadership, the COC focuses on promoting sportsmanship, inclusivity, and excellence in athletics. The committee actively supports Canadian athletes by providing resources, training, and advocacy to ensure they perform at their best on the international stage. The COC also engages in various initiatives to foster sports development across Canada, from grassroots programs to elite athlete preparation

The Canadian Olympic Committee is not just about competition but also about creating a positive impact through sport. It supports campaigns and programs that address important social issues, such as the “OneTeam” initiative that promotes LGBTQ+ inclusion in sports. This comprehensive approach underscores the COC’s commitment to leveraging the power of sport to inspire and unite Canadians
