Das Plonlein, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany

Iconic Landmark. Probably the most famous postcard motif from Rothenburg ob der Tauber. A narrow half-timbered house with the small fountain in front of it, surrounded by the Kobolzeller gate and the towering Siebersturm, lovingly renovated burgher houses on the right and left – what a charming ensemble! The word Plönlein comes from the Latin of “planum”, which means “flat place”.
