Dakar-Plateau is an arrondissement in the Dakar Department, and forms the central district of the city of Dakar.
Dakar-Plateau is one of the 19 districts of the city of Dakar ( Senegal ). It is part of the district of Dakar Plateau . It is the most modern district of the capital, located in the south of the peninsula of Cape Verde , facing the island of Gorée .
Le Plateau, the historic centre of Dakar, occupies the tip of the peninsula and contains the city’s major attractions including colonial buildings (Presidential Palace, City Hall), the Théodore-Monod Museum and markets. This area, which doesn’t feel at all like a showcase, is where the city really comes alive
