It lies in the course of the southern route of the second trunk route in the district of Oberbilk in the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital of Düsseldorf .
The station is located under the IHZ Park between the streets Kölner Strasse and Moscow Strasse and was renamed on October 23, 2000 by Lord Mayor Joachim Erwin in the presence of his Moscow counterpart Yuri Luschkow . Parts of the station’s interior in the area of access from Moscow Street are based on the subway of the partner city.
