Crypt of the Original Sin, Matera, Italy
The Crypt of the Original Sin, former church fronting Lombard-Benedictine monastery, is one of the most important examples of early medieval painting in the Mediterranean. The crypt is located along the wall of the Gravina di Picciano and is rooted in the local memory as the “Cave of the Hundred Saints”.
