The vineyards of Creation wines are planted in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge in the Walker Bay region. The wine cellar was fine tuned into a modern space in 2007 complete with the latest equipment from France, Germany and Switzerland. 22 hectares were planted to vine for the first time as the owners wanted to grow virus-free strains and ensure the best varieties were grown.
Their white varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Semillon whilst they grow the red varieties of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon / Petit Verdot and Syrah Grenache.
The wine making is left in the capable hands of JC Martin who trained in Switzerland and learned the fine art of viticulture and winemaking. He now comes with 15 years of experience and together with the stainless steel tanks, French oak barriques and vinification facilities; he works his magic on the farm. Pop into the estate for a vineyard or cellar tour as well as a taste of their delicious food and wine pairings or a walk in their fynbos garden. They also have a few recipes to share some of which include pairings of Pinot Noir and pepper crusted duck and Merlot and Cauliflower soup to mention a few.
