Congost de Mont-rebei, Sant Esteve de la Sarga, Lleida, Spain
On crossing the Montsec, the Noguera Ribagorçana there is created a huge cut vertical walls, the Mont-rebei, which opens to the south in an impressive amphitheater of cliffs.
Between Aragon and Catalonia, the Mont-rebei cuts north to south Montsec first major training foothills Catalans. The reservation Foundation protects nearly 600 hectares in the Catalan coast: the same gorge and the river banks (where otters live) cliffs (home to large birds of prey) and part of the shady side of Montsec d’Ares (covered oaks).
