Cold Water National Park, Kızılcahamam, Ankara, Turkey 

Soğuksu National Park, which is located in Kızılcahamam district of Ankara, the capital province of Turkey, is in the transition zone between dense forests of the Black Sea Region and moorlands of the Central Anatolia Region. For this reason, it has a huge plant diversity. Four different ecosystems can be observed in Soğuksu National Park, and there are about 160 bird species in the national park. Moreover, nearly extinct bird species, such as cinereous vultures, build nests in the area.

Because of the geological formation of the region, hot springs and cold water sources are common in the national park.Cold water sources are famous forthem being drinkable, and hot springs are used as spa. Spas make the national park and its vicinity important for health tourism.

Flora: Larch, Turkish Pine, Fir and Hornbeam are tree species which are found in dense in the Soğuksu National Park which has a rich vegetation. This rich variety of flora includes timothy and flowers also such as wild berries, wild rose, pear, dwarf juniper, wild nuts, quaking aspen and some oak species.

Fauna: In the area, where there are mammal species such as wild boar, bear, fox, coyote, wolf, squirrels, there are also several species of reptiles. Black Vulture, among 160 bird species in the National Park, is an important specie protected worldwide and has become a symbol of the region.
