At the top of the Place des Oudayas, the Chouhada cemetery on either side of the road. On the far left, Laâlou, which became a prison in 1920, a castle dating from the time of Moulay Rachid (1638), which would be transformed into a museum of military history. This former prison, which we called the Moroccan Alcatraz, has known famous prisoners in its jails, notably the nationalists Ahmed Mâaninou and Allal El Fassi, but also Abderrahim Bouâbid, Mehdi Ben Barka, Mohamed Fqih Basri, Ali Yata, Moumen Diouri , Omar Benjelloun and Mohamed Elyazghi and practically all the Moroccan nationalists arrested for their political activity by the French. The prison was divided into three sectors according to the ethnic or social origin of the prisoners: pavilion of the French and rich Moroccans,
