The Transitional Cathedral is open everyday, so please come on in. The building is exquisitely beautiful. Built to the glory of God the quiet simplicity draws people to peace and to prayer and to contemplate the depths of God. When you are inside and look back outside through the wide open doors, the beautiful park setting of Latimer Square is fully in view. Whether you are a visitor, a pilgrim searching for God, or needing a place to pray, the door is open and you are welcome. Visitors find the building a surprisingly warm place to be in the depths of a Christchurch winter!
The Cathedral is a house of prayer and a place of warm hospitality. Our prayer for those who come is that each person will experience the love of God, not only in the building and through those who offer welcome, but in the daily prayer that continues throughout the year. Love is our origin; Love is what we are made for; Love is our fulfilment when our lives on earth come to an end and return to the Source from which we came. Our prayer is that in the Cathedral you will know that God’s love is for you, and for each person who comes.
