Chiostro del Bramante

Chiostro del Bramante is a striking Renaissance building just a minute away from Piazza Navona. The beautiful complex hosts rotating exhibits, primarily by internationally renowned modern and contemporary artists. The art exhibits are always well done, but the entry fee is a bit steep considering there are no other permanent collections at the Chiostro.

Although this may not constitute a traditional rooftop, the cloisters of this fifteenth-century church are home to a bookshop, café and courtyard terrace bar. They boast a private view of a recently-discovered Raphael fresco.

This oasis of calm in the middle of the busy historic centre also hosts some of the best art exhibitions in town (recent names include Turner, Hokusai and Juan Mirò, to name just a few).

The Caffetteria-Bistro del Chiostro del Bramante is a place of refreshment and socializing located in the Renaissance Cloister of Bramante, in a fascinating mix of classic and modern.

It includes two distinct spaces – the actual Cafeteria and the Sala delle Sibille – and represents a meeting point for breakfast, brunch/lunch, tea or cocktails, with free entry regardless of the exhibitions and with the possibility of exclusivity.

The rich menus, of natural refinement, are the specialty and the table service completes the comfort during your stay. Each time slot is treated with particular attention to always offer the best products prepared at the counter or by the chefs in the Cloister kitchens.

Treat yourself to a true moment of pleasure sitting comfortably in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Sala delle Sibille or at the counter of the Cafeteria, sipping the excellent “Macchiatone”, letting yourself be enveloped by the scent of foamed coffee in a large cup. And to wish you a good start to the day full of sweetness and authenticity: brownies, muffins and cookies with original and tasty ingredients, freshly squeezed and espresso juices.

Anything but the usual Bistro: you can enjoy delicious international and typical Italian dishes sitting in the Sala delle Sibille, immersed in the site-specific work by Fallen Fruit “Trappola d’Amore a Pleasure Palace”, 2021 which covers the walls and the furnishings of the room and directly overlooking the fresco “Le Sibille’ by Raphael”, kept in the Church of Santa Maria della Pace, or along the upper loggia, enjoying the breathtaking view of the internal courtyard of the Bramante Cloister. Some specialties are the cakes, strictly ‘home made’, the vegetable tempura with soy mayonnaise sauce, the risottos and the soups. High quality products chosen to satisfy simple and refined palates. The menu is in fact also characterized by dishes such as Rosetta burger with rosemary potatoes, cheese and pepper risotto, beef carpaccio with salad in apple tataki chips and barbecue sauce, chestnut cheesecake.
