Cheltenham Spa Train Station

Trains to Cheltenham Spa station swing through the glorious Gloucestershire countryside and arrive the rather grand white building that came to the town in 1840. The station now sits on the Bristol-to-Birmingham Main Line, approximately one mile from Cheltenham town centre, and runs regular passenger services throughout the UK: Exeter St Davids in the south, Manchester Piccadilly in the north, an hour and a half to Cardiff in the west, and two hours and ten minutes to London Paddington to the east. Service D buses go from the station’s main entrance, taking arrivals both to Cheltenham’s main shopping and leisure districts, ten minutes away, and the lauded steeplechase Cheltenham Racecourse, a 40-minute bus journey away. The area immediately surrounding the station, however, is vibrant in its own right. Both Gloucester Road and Queen’s Road are home to several bars, cafes and restaurants.

The station buildings at Cheltenham Spa have a small ticket kiosk, ticket machines and accessible toilet facilities. From the car park on Queen’s Road, the main station concourse leads to platform 1 with male and female toilets, bench seating, a waiting room and a small cafe and shop. A bridge leads across to platform 2, where additional waiting areas can be found along with customer help points and ample bike storage.
