Chatsworth House Gardens

Famous for its rich history, waterworks, sculptures, and Victorian rock garden, there is plenty to explore in the 105-acre Chatsworth Garden.  Explore Chatsworth Garden, the ever-evolving garden surrounding one of Derbyshire’s most popular country houses. The 105-acre garden is the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation and includes an arboretum, rock garden, fountains, sculptures and more.

Marvel at the historic and modern waterworks, discover hidden gems or find your own favourite spot – the historic garden has something for everyone. The 105 acre garden is the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation. Over this time, although some points of interest were replaced to make way for new fashions, the garden retains many early features, including the Canal Pond, Cascade and 1st Duke’s Greenhouse.

The Arcadia project is part of the biggest transformation of the garden for 200 years – it also includes a remodelled Rock Garden, the Maze borders, the Ravine, and Dan Pearson’s redevelopment of the Trout Stream and the Jack Pond. The water features play from 10.30am until 4.15pm. Please be aware that they are gravity-fed and reliant on the water levels in the lakes above Chatsworth. The active times may change due to rainfall. Water will not be flowing down the steps of the Cascade as it is awaiting urgent restoration. Please do not walk in the Cascade. Please keep children supervised, especially at the Cascade and near lakes and ponds.
