Château Cantenac, Saint-Émilion, Aquitaine, France
A well-located château on the main road between Saint Emilion and Libourne, this is owned by Nicole Roskam-Brunot, who is also a key player in the tourism office in Saint Emilion. Perhaps because of this, there is a well-stocked boutique where you can buy a number of different wines, and a good tour that goes into excellent depth about the process of winemaking, and Saint Emilion itself.
The property extends over 12ha and has a particularly good special bottling called Cuvée Madame. During the visit, the tasting can take the form of a comparison of different châteaux (they also have a Listrac-Médoc) or of different vintages.
