Cathedral of Maputo, Mozambique

Observe a monument to the Portuguese religious and colonial influence, culture, and architecture at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Constructed in 1944 by Marcial Simões de Freitas e Costa, the church was built in the Art Deco style with concrete and cement, inspired by European cathedrals. See the hallmark of the city at this Roman Catholic church, with its paintings representing the Portuguese settlers, and appreciate the interior with stained glass and a detailed altar. In the vicinity of the temple you can find many restaurants serving Portuguese cuisine.
