Cap San Diego

The CAP SAN DIEGO is the last surviving ship of a series of six fast general cargo vessels built for the Hamburg-Süd shipping company in 1961/62 and predominantly sailed to South America until the end of 1981.

Its elegant silhouette is as much a part of the Hamburg harbor panorama as the Speicherstadt and the Michel. Loved by locals and tourists alike, the ship is maintained in top condition by a dedicated crew of both professionals and volunteers. Since 2003, the museum ship has also been a maritime monument and a floating hotel, currently moored at the Überseebrücke in Hamburg. Several times a year, the CAP SAN DIEGO sets sail for museum trips with up to 500 passengers.
