Calais Beach, Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France

The beaches of Pas de Calais are found between the beaches of Somme and Nord. With a coast of 100 kilometers, Pas de Calais has great places to relax and some of the most beautiful beaches in France.

This part of the coast is nicknamed Cote d’Opale and extends from Berck in the south to Oye-Plage to the north to the mouth of Aa River. Successively bordered by the English Channel and the North Sea (they are separated near Marck, a few kilometers from Calais), the landscapes change and only the large sand beaches are conserved.

The most well known seaside resorts of Pas de Calais are: Cape Gris Nez and Cape Blanc Nez. These two capes permit you to alternate your seafront walk in order to discover the most beautiful panoramas on the Cote d’Opale and swim in preserved areas.

To the south, near Berck, the Authie dunes offer a unique landscape with sand mountains that we can observe thanks to the discovery paths.

However, the tide is very strong in Pas de Calais and swimming at low tide is sometimes impossible. During the summer, water temperatures can rise above 20 degrees Celsius.
