Get an emergency travel document

You can apply for an emergency travel document if you’re abroad and your passport has been lost or stolen, damaged or expired, and you can’t get a new or replacement passport in time to travel. Apply online for an emergency travel document If the person needing the emergency travel document is under 16, a parent or guardian should apply on their behalf. If you are travelling in more than 3 weeks, check if you can get a new or replacement passport in time to travel.

Get a certified copy of a British passport

This service is for customers who need a certified photocopy of a British passport. Please be aware that we cannot provide certified copies of British or foreign birth certificates, or foreign identity documents nor of any educational qualifications obtained in the UK. We are unable to make certified copies of UK driving licences. We are unable to offer certified copies of British passports for use in relation to UK banking, UK mortgage requests, or, where there is not a specific requirement for this service to be provided by the British Office, Taipei (e.g. a formal requirement from the authorities of another jurisdiction, or a UK court requirement). You will need to provide proof that there is a requirement for a certified copy of your passport to be provided by the British Office, Taipei rather than a local lawyer or other provider (i.e. an official letter). A list of lawyers who are able to provide certified copies of British passports is available here. If you require a certified copy of a British passport, contact the British Assistance & Services Section to book an appointment. If you are a British National who has another enquiry not covered above, you can contact the British Assistance & Services Section. We do not offer in person services without a booked appointment.
