Wood-paneled space for oysters & steak frites with classic French wines in 400-year-old townhouse. This attractive brasserie with its striking high coffered ceiling and pretty interior courtyard promises a genuine French dining experience. Try the tourte de queue de boeuf (oxtail pie) or the seafood platter followed by the tarte au citron. All the wines are French.

It’s not just a word. It’s a way of life: We’ve been drawn to the Esprit Brasserie for a long time. In 2014 we finally found the place that nourishes our passion. Literally: We serve Düsseldorf’s most French cuisine under Düsseldorf’s most beautiful coffered ceiling. From escargots and foie gras to oysters and frog legs, steak fries and roasted marrow bones to mousse au chocolat, no gourmet dream goes unfulfilled. Bordeaux, Burgundy and Beaujolais melt in the mouth – and of course Champagne also has a prominent place on the drinks menu.

Covered in white, with style and without chichi, your place is on the long bench, in the private room or under the canopy in the inner courtyard of the almost 400-year-old town house on Mühlenstraße. Flanked by the luxury hotel De Medici, which is already a museum, protected by the Andreaskirche and inspired by the spirit of the neighboring cultural strongholds – whether opera, art collection, art gallery or Kom(m)ödchen.

Would you like cognac? At the end of the day, the bar awaits you – a painting in the truest sense of the word. And if you’ve got a taste for it and want to throw a party, there’s plenty of room for that too.

By the way: Feinschmecker recently ranked us among the best brasseries in Germany and at the beginning of 2022 among the best brasseries in Düsseldorf. Ok, we still have one more: We are currently among the 500 “best restaurants for every day” in Germany.

To be honest, we are very happy about that.
