Blackpool Zoo

Blackpool Zoo is a 32-acre zoo, owned by Parques Reunidos and located in the sea-side resort of Blackpool, Lancashire, England. It provides a home to over 1,350 animals from all over the world

Blackpool Zoo is a family friendly attraction based in one of Britain’s favourite seaside resorts offering an educational, yet fun day out for the whole family. Often described as a “hidden gem”, the zoo boasts over 1000 animals from all over the world from Aardvarks to Zebras whilst spanning 37 acres of traditional, spacious parkland and lakes.

The Zoos resident animals come in all shapes and sizes, allowing you to learn all about the animal kingdom. As you head down to the Big Cat House, you’ll come face to face with fierce predators such as the Amur Tiger, Alyona and father-and-son African lion duo, Wallace and Khari, before standing tall at Giraffe Heights.

Blackpool Zoo is proud to have the only family of gorillas in the North of England, so make your acquaintance with Bukavu (the silverback), Miliki, Njema, and youngsters Meisie, Moanda and Makari. Then head next door to Orangutan Outlook, where you’ll find our family of amazing and lively Bornean orangutans.

Take a visit to the single biggest investment in the history of Blackpool Zoo, Project Elephant Base camp which opened in March 2018 and is home to a herd of six elephants. This area has been specially designed around the needs of the mammoth species featuring state of the art equipment and facilities, including the largest indoor area in the UK

With a full schedule of talks, feeds and displays on offer as well as our interactive walk-though exhibits such as Lemur Wood or Rainbow Landings, you’re guaranteed to make memories that will last a lifetime.
