Bimbia Port, UNESCO, Cameroon 

The serial cultural property proposed for inscription consists of the former slave port of Bimbia and its associated sites. Bimbia is a former port that played a key role in the transatlantic trade in the Gulf of Guinea. The site is located at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, about twenty kilometers from the city of Limbe, in the locality of Bimbia; village of Dikolo-Bimbia, District of Limbé III, in the locality of Fako, Region of South-West Cameroon. The site of the former slave port is linked to a small island just opposite called Nichols Island. The site is full of vestige still material of the presence of the slave trade in Bimbia. By visiting the site, a route is drawn for the route of the slave boarding process.
