“Regierungsschlösschen” (Government palace) is the popular name of the stately Neo-Baroque building on the Cecilienallee. The Düsseldorf district government sees itself as an “interpreter” and “moderator” between the state and local authorities. It bundles the specifications from the various specialist ministries of the state government and ensures the legally and technically correct implementation at the municipal level while safeguarding the interests of the cities and municipalities.
